Maksim Novikau was detained by OMON in Homyel at Biletskaha Str. in front of the Tsentralny District Administration (52.426731, 31.016514) on August 11, 2020. He did not take part in the demonstration. He was beaten in detention. In front of Tsentralnaye AUS, he, together with other detainees, was severely beaten by servicemen without insignia in black uniform and masks. Detainees were also subjected to cruel and degrading treatment. His friend, who was detained together with him, was burned his fingers with a lighter in the attempt of investigators to force him to sign some document. The victim was not allowed to make a change in protocol. He was threatened to be sexually assaulted.

Yury Shafranski was detained on Sept 27, 2020, after the Sunday march in Uruchcha when moving in MacDonald’s direction. The man was severely beaten and lost consciousness on the bus. Other detainees on the bus had different injuries, but no medical aid was provided. From witnesses, Yury got to know how he was beaten being unconscious, including blows to the face and genitalia. After the man was poured by a bucket of water, he regained consciousness and was beaten again in Tsentralnaye RUUS of Minsk.

Liza Hancharova was severely apprehended by OMON on March 13, 2021 when she was going to take a photo of a small protest. She had bruises on her knees after that. At Akrestsina Detention Center, she was kept in overcrowded cells (7 people per 2 places, then 7 people per 4 places); detainees did not have mattresses and were to sleep on the floor; light was on all the time. Every two days, chlorine containing liquid was poured to the cell in the presence of the detainees without airing the cell, which led to mucous membrane inflammation.

Peaceful demonstration was broken up by OMON near Brest supermarket. Some protesters were detained and dragged by OMON.

Unlawful detention of people by police.

Video 1: a small group of women stood at the corner of a shopping centre, one of them holding a child. 3 officers in olive uniform and 2 plainclothes policemen detained an unarmed and peaceful woman and took her in an unknown direction. The remaining police officers tried to detain another person. The perpetrators seemed to drag the victims randomly. One policeman with a cap seemed to make threats to a photograph.

At least 7 OMON agents in olive uniform and 2 plainclothes police officers brutally forced two women with a white-red-white flag over their shoulders into one of a few minibuses without license plates. A police car driving along another lane did not take any actions to verify identities of the perpetrators/minivans.
