Description

A whole squad (numerous officers) of all-equipped (helmets, batons, etc.) policemen were closely watching the demonstration. They were wearing military-pattern uniforms. At some point one of them detained a middle-aged man, holding him face down to the ground, his arms behind his back. Another officer was holding a baton in the air. A bit further away, 2-3 other officers were arresting another demonstrator in the same way. Another agent detained a protester in a non-violent way.

Description

The victim was forced into a paddy wagon. An officer forced him to the ground and stepped on him. While in the paddy wagon, officers verbally abused the victim, ripped his pants, wrote the location of his detention and a number on his leg and his hoodie, painted his face. Officers did the same to all detainees, they could rip their underwear, write a number on somebody’s head. Officers repeatedly beat the victim and others in the truck, referred to them by numbers and humiliated otherwise.

Description

There was a crowd of peaceful protesters. Some of them started shouting and urging the police to stop unlawful detentions. A young male civilian got apprehended by one of many fully-equipped (helmets, batons, etc.) police officers wearing military-patterns/all-black clothes. Description

A group of plainclothes police officers and OMON officers brutally beat a young male civilian with truncheons. Although the victim was on the ground covering his head to protect from injuries, the officers turn him on the side and repeatedly beat him with truncheons. The victim was visibly in pain. Bystanders tried to stop officers but their number significantly prevails, so bystanders were helpless.

Description

5 officers in mixed uniform and civil clothes detained an unarmed civilian allegedly in a residential neighbourhood of Adzincova str. They forced him on the ground, face down, tied his wrists and took in an unknown direction. On their way, one of the officers kneed the victim in the stomach several times and slapped him in the head. Off-screen female voices commented that the victim lived in the #6 or 7 entrance part of the building. That the victim was near the building talking on the phone when the officers attacked him.

These pictures allegedly were taken in Zhodino detention center by a male detainee, whose cell phone was never found by staff. The pictures demonstrated deplorable sanitation in prison cells, which were overcrowded, lack of sleeping accommodations, absence of linen, no appropriate toilet. Eighteen (18) detainees slept on the floor, under the table.

Description

Several OMON officers attacked Mikalai’s car because they saw a white ribbon around his wrist – that supporters of Svetlana Tikhanovslaya wore. OMON pierced car wheels, destroyed the windshield and other windows of the car, forced the victim out, beat him up and humiliated otherwise. They filmed the torture on a personal cell phone. The victim was beaten and humiliated while on a transportation vehicle on the way to the detention centre. He was brought to Akrestsina where he was repeatedly beaten by officers and staff, forced into uncomfortable postures. In the detention centre, as a result of received injuries, he started bleeding out and he eventually lost consciousness. He woke up in the hospital.

Description

Stanislav’s testimony about his detention on August 11, 2020.
He was with his girlfriend in the Friendship of Peoples Park when he was stopped by representatives of enforcement agencies. They asked the victim to unlock his phone, to which he complied to avoid potential confrontation. They noticed a white band on his wrist and started asking questions, then beat the victim up. They forced the victim and his girlfriend in a van where they kept blowing him with truncheons but avoided making any harm to the girl. They tightened his wrists. Noticing the white and red belt, an officer cut it. The victim was kept on the floor.
