The police detained the victim for spreading leaflets on August 2, 2020. He was released several hours later and given a release document. In the interest of providing additional information, the victim was invited to the ROVD, where the police brought fabricated allegations of assault against him and he was subsequently detained.

The victim was skating with his friend in the backyard of gymnasia No. 15. At or about 11:30 PM, they decided to escort their friend to her home. While they were crossing a parking lot, several men in black uniforms suddenly attacked them. The attackers forced victims with his friend to show the contents of their mobile phones and took them away.

Four members of the security forces walked towards civilians next to the Lion statue. They physically attack and beat two civilians.

In the courtyard of the Akrestina prison, detainees were compelled to kneel along the wall with their hands on the wall. At least 4 riot policemen or police officers, wearing a cap, beat the detainees with truncheons. The video was filmed from the cab of a car.

The man videotaping was walking his dog. A van pulls up and people begin running. Shots can be heard in the background. The man does not run and tells his companion not to run because they are walking their dogs but is shot in his left hand with a rubber bullet.

The video shows unarmed civilians scattered on the streets of a residential area. They are not destroying any property and are not attacking servicemen allegedly located on the other side of the road. They are chanting and clapping.

The witness participated in a protest at Pushkinskaya street area. By the time he arrived at the protest, there had been a shooting at Kalvarijskaya street which forced civilians to seek shelter behind residential buildings. Special forces used rubber bullets. Those civilians who chose to come back started building barricades.

SWAT officers arrived at the town’s main square where they attacked the victim who had hidden inside a small shop with his acquaintances. When the shop’s doors were opened, SWAT officers brutally beat the individuals inside. Since the victim was standing near the entrance, he was the first one to be attacked by approximately 6 members of the SWAT.

While waiting near the residential area of Kuibisheve, the victim was brutally detained by two men dressed in regular clothes lacking any insignia or official identification. Several minutes later, the victim was passed to Special Purpose Police Unit OMON members who appeared in the place of his detention.

The two victims, both 17 years of age at the time of the incident, were observing the peaceful protests from the rooftop of the shopping mall “Riga.” Members of Special Purpose Police Unit OMON arrived and used flash-bang grenades and rubber bullets.

The victim was detained at the polling station and taken to the Temporary Detention Centre at Akrestsina. She was not provided with reasons for her detention. In terms of detention conditions, the cell was overcrowded: 13 people in a 8-bed cell on the first day and 36 people in a 4-bed cell during the following two days. Neither the victim nor the other detainees were provided with legal counsel.
