The interview with the victim was taken straight after her release from a detention facility. The victim was charged with participating in riots and was taken into custody alongside her husband even though there were no riots at the time.
At the time of detention, they held symbols considered to be symbols of Tihanovskaya's campaign. She was detained in unsanitary conditions and in the cold. She was only given food 24 hours later. She was provided with running water but with no drinking utensils e.g. a cup or glass. The detainees were not allowed to make calls and were denied access to medical aid as well as legal assistance.
At the court hearing, a judge reached a decision that was not in the victim's favor, based merely on the fact that she was in possession of a white-red-white flag. The victim was eventually released on Aug 11, 2020.
