The victim and his brother were walking along the street towards a bus station when a black van pulled over and four OMON servicemen jumped out. The victim and his brother were forced on the ground and taken in custody. They were kept in an open yard in a detention center and their belongings were confiscated.

The victim was forced to open his phone. During the time in custody, the victim was repeatedly beaten, kicked, and humiliated. He was forced to sign an arrest record with no opportunity to read through the document.

Thereafter, he was transferred to Okhrestino where he was placed in an overcrowded cell with no ceiling, no sanitary facilities, and restricted access to water. The victim needed medical aid and was taken to a hospital. No belongings were returned.
