The victim went protesting with friends and was traveling within 1st City Ring, initially by car and then by foot. He provided details of the events he observed in various locations. Despite not committing any violent acts, OMON herded the victim and his friends into a trap on the stairs of Gorkij theatre.

The victim noticed laser targets on his body and heard a burst of gunfire. An OMON serviceman then hit him with a club and forced him and his friends to jump onto a prisoner transport vehicle. In Okhrestino, his belongings were taken away. He was placed in an overcrowded cell with no toilet. Later, they were relocated to an open yard where they remained until sunrise.

There he was made to kneel with hands clasped behind his head and threatened with punishment for looking up or talking. He was subjected to death threats and was severely beaten. No access to sanitary facilities was provided. Thereafter, the victim, with 15 to 20 other men, was transferred to a prison cell for four hours where his access to food was restricted. The victim was released five days later.

No court hearing was held and no release documents were provided. Men in masks took pictures of him and collected personal information such as date of birth and residency address. No belongings or documents were returned to him.
